Ann lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and has resided in the Midwest her entire life.
Loving nature and having a talent for drawing, botanical art was a perfect fit.
She was first exposed to watercolor painting at the Morton Arboretum where she has received her Botanical Art certificate.
Ann is mostly drawn to native Midwest plants. She often grows them from seed, and gardens with them, both in Glen Ellyn and her cottage in the Indiana Dunes. The Dunes, with their immense biodiversity, are especially inspiring to her.
She is a member of the Dupage Art League, the Nature Artist’s Guild of the Morton Arboretum and the ASBA, where she has shown her work since November 2007. Her work has been exhibited in the Phoenix Museum of Art and
her honors include the March 2011 People's Choice Award at the Southern
Shore Art Association Gallery, a merit award from the Dupage Art League, a
first place award at the Danada Nature Art Show and her recent selection as
one of the jury's favorites at the 2011 Lubeznik Center Lakefront Art Festival
in Michigan City, Indiana.
