The watercolor paintings by Corinne Lapin-Cohen
are a testament to the abundance of beauty in our world. Leaves,
seeds, flowers and fruit are the recurrent themes. Her colors
and meticulous attention to detail draws the viewer into each
painting. Mrs. Lapin-Cohen's work reveals nature's delicate balance
of forces while capturing that which is never static and forever
in a state of change.
Corinne Lapin-Cohen's delicate watercolors reflect an unusual
sensitivity to nature. Her interpretations are truly a celebration
of life.
Corinne has exhibited her work extensively,
including the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park, the New York Botanical
Garden, Denver Botanic Garden, New York State Museum, the Hightstead
Arboretum, and Cork Gallery in Avery Fisher Hall. Lincoln Center.
Her professional studies include sudies at the National Academy
of Design, and a degree from the New York Botanical Garden Botanical
Illustration Program, where she is currently an instructor. In
addition Mrs. Lapin-Cohen is teaching botanical art classes
at Lasdon Arboretum in Somers, NY, and the fine art of botanical
painting at Lehman College.
Her professional memberships include
the
Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the American Society
of Botanical Artists. Her work is included in the Hunt Collection
for Botanical Documentation.
