Although her first loves were art and the theatre,
Mary-Clare trained as a teacher and owned and ran a successful
nursery and pre-prep school before becoming a member of the growing
number of British watercolour artists.
Her first mentors were Archie Sutter-Watt and Valerie Sadler in
Scotland and more recently she has studied under botanical artist
Anne Marie Evans, Evelyn Binns and Rosie Sanders.
Mary-clare has exhibited at the Sloane Club, The Lennox Gallery
and the Gallery in Cork Street, the Whitehouse and McGill -Duncan Galleries in Scotland
and the Oriel Gallery in Brisbane, Australia. Her work can presently be
seen at Flying Colours Gallery in London.
She lives and paints full time in South West Scotland and draws on the beautiful
natural surroundings of her home for inspiration.
